How to get around
By Public Transportation
Getting around the city is easy. There is no metro but Bologna's bus network is extensive and efficient. Most routes in the city are operated by the TPER company, which handles passenger transportation in Bologna.
By Bike
It is also very pleasant to visit the city by bike (the city center has no altitude difference). There are various bike paths and parks and the traffic is used to cyclists. Group and self guided tours are available here.
By Walk
Bologna is small enough to be covered in a few hours and walking around is the best way to discover its hidden secrets. Gardens, painted porticoes, canals and, most importantly, people are easier to meet if you walk.
